This beauty was made at the ceramic studio Søholm in Denmark. It was most likely designed by the esteemed designer Einar Johansen, as the pattern and colours are very true to his taste. The lamp is decorated with a stunning glaze, with so many rich nuances.
Søholm Stentøj was a historic Danish ceramics manufacturer based on Bornholm and were active 1835–1996. “Søholm,” “Stentøj” and a model number 1011 is hand-written on the base confirming authenticity and production series. The fact it is handwritten would suggest the entire piece to be partly, if not entirely handmade. The simple Scandinavian form, ceramic craftsmanship, and subtle decorative glazing, make this an absolute classic piece of Nordic vintage design.
