Arzberg Form 2000
Designed by Heinrich Löffelhardt
Introduced 1954, Germany
The Form 2000 service, designed by Heinrich Löffelhardt for Arzberg, is one of the most iconic porcelain designs of the 20th century. Introduced in 1954, it embodies the ideals of postwar modernism in Germany, balancing functional clarity with timeless elegance. Characterised by clear, organic lines, gently rounded profiles, and harmonious proportions. The design avoids superfluous ornament, instead emphasising form and usability. Considered a milestone of German industrial design, Form 2000 won several awards and became a bestseller, remaining in production for decades. It reflects the Bauhaus-inspired principle that beauty arises naturally from functionality and thoughtful proportions.
