Hans Wegner was a Danish furniture designer born in 1914, widely considered one of the most influential figures in Scandinavian design. Wegner’s approach emphasised functionality, simplicity, and the use of natural materials, embodying the principles of Danish Modernism. Throughout his career, Wegner created numerous iconic designs that have become synonymous with midcentury modern style.Despite being designed over half a century ago, the sofa continues to be produced by Getama, a testament to its enduring popularity and enduring relevance in contemporary interiors.

The sofa’s frame is constructed from solid oak showcasing the beauty of natural materials. The seat and backrest were reupholstered in 2016 in Bute ‘Pear’ 100% wool fabric.
