An elegant Model 118 teak easy chair, designed by Grete Jalk and produced by France & Son during the late 1950s to early 1960s.This chair exemplifies Jalk’s refined modernist vision, balancing clean architectural lines with inviting comfort. Crafted in solid teak finely joined with a warm natural patina, the frame features slim, gently tapered legs and subtly curved armrests that give the piece a light, airy presence. The design reflects Jalk’s sensitivity to proportion and her ability to merge functionality with sculptural simplicity.

Grete Jalk (1920–2006) was one of the most significant female designers of the Danish modern movement. Her work often combined functional clarity with a graceful, human touch. The Model 118 easy chair illustrates her talent for designing furniture that is at once practical, modern, and enduringly elegant. Produced by France & Son, a manufacturer known for collaborating with many leading Danish designers, the chair is a representative piece of mid-century Scandinavian craftsmanship and design heritage.

This piece is in good condition with the original upholstered cushions with sprung interior, however would benefit from reupholstering. The manufacturer’s metal disc present.
